Viddymatic & Ioncube Installation
Viddymatic uses a technology called Ioncube, which may mean you need to make your website compatible with it...
MOST web hosts will already have Ioncube compatibility built-in (or you may already have it set up because another software or script uses it), but if you don't know here's how to check:
By far the simplest option is to ask your web hosting provider. They should be able to enable Ioncube within minutes for you (if they cannot help you to do that, then it may be a sign to start looking elsewhere to host your website!).
But if you prefer to get your hands dirty and check yourself, here's the easy way:
- Click here to download the official Ioncube 'Wizard' file to your computer (Size: 32kb)
- Unzip the loader-wizard.zip file you just downloaded.
You'll have a folder called ioncube, and inside it a file called loader-wizard.php
- Using your ftp program upload that folder (ioncube) to your web site's publicly accessible area (usually called www or public_html)
NOTE: if that folder already exists, chances are you have ioncube working already.
- Now load the following web address into your browser:
http://www.yourdomain.com/ioncube/loader-wizard.php
(replacing yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
The wizard should run and tell you whether ioncube is ready to roll (or not)
If it is, you're all set to go! Install Viddymatic and start showing your videos!
If you DON'T have Ioncube installed successfully:
~ Stage 2 ~
The Ioncube Wizard should tell you exactly what needs to be done in order to get things working, and that usually just means uploading a file into the Ioncube folder......but as I said to start with, the easiest and safest way is to ask your hosting provider to activate it for you: their expertise will allow them to do it in seconds.
IF YOU STILL HAVE PROBLEMS AFTER DOING THE ABOVE:
If you've contacted your webhost and tried the above (or are getting stuck) just log a ticket at the Help Desk and we'll help you get up and running.
And remember: this part of the setup only ever needs to be done ONCE.
