AAARGH! Web Video Sucks!

Witch format for web video?

That's right - I didn't miss 'spell' which. Web video really is full of evil supernaturalness and warted noses (yes - I know there are 'white' witches, but I'm talking about the wicked Wizard Of Oz type ones).

So on this page I'm going to try an demystify some video-thingses in a nutshell, and hopefully leave you able to hex any online video witches into submission using just your trusty new skills and Viddymatic.

Web Video, 2011

Successfully showing your video on the web comes down to knowing how your visitors' web browsers receive and decode that video from where it lives (on some web server out in cyberspace) and onto their screen.

There are currently 2 main ways (in terms of popularity) that modern browsers do this most effectively: by using a 'Flash' player and/or by using HTML5 <video> tags (there is Silverlight from Microsoft, but it's not widely installed on people's systems)...

Flash is a plugin for web browsers that's been around for about 863 years, and because of that (and its many abilities) it's installed in 90% - 97% of your visitors browsers. So, if you correctly create a video that's compatible with a Flash player, and if you include that flash player in your web page, that's how many of your visitors will be able to play it.

HTML5 is the emerging standard for writing modern web pages, and it includes a video 'tag'. So instead of using a Flash player, you can include your video in a web page by adding the <video> tag correctly. HOWEVER... HTML5 isn't fully finalised yet. And more importantly, it's <video> tag isn't used the same way across all browsers. Even if it did, there's still a huge chunk of your visitors who won't yet have a browser that can show HTML5 videos correctly anyway!

So if you had to choose ONE way of showing a video, you'd be silly not to use a Flash player with a compatible video. But there's an annoying portable spanner in the works....

Portable Pains In The Posterior

There's a newer group of visitors out there who use an iPhone or an iPad to access your web site. Now, while the hype would make you (wrongly) believe that 40 billion people across 10 different galaxies use one of these snazzy Apple devices, they do still make up a small fraction of users that are certainly worth reaching wherever possible.

The trouble is, due to a dispute with a company called Adobe (who own Flash - among other things), Apple's iPads and iPhones will not show videos that use a Flash player. For visitors using an iPad or iPhone you need to add your video into the page using the HTML5 <video> tag for them to see it (you can also let them play a file using their built-in player, but that's not the best option).

So, hopefully you can already see that:

adding a video to your page - in principle - isn't too difficult (you can use a Flash player, or the HTML5 <video> tag)

adding it to your page and having most visitors being able to see it can be a total freaking nightmare!

This is where Viddymatic (Version 2) pays for itself as soon as you start using it... You don't have to think about how the hell to add your video (or mp3 audio file, or YouTube movie) to a web page so that most of your visitors can see it or hear it.

It sets up all the bits - that would usually cause your hair to fall out - in the background for you automatically. So, when a visitor reaches your web site, Viddymatic will instantly decide whether it needs to use its Flash player, or use the HTML5 <video> tag method.

Plus the way it does it enables you to create just one video for the web, rather than have to create two or more versions of your video to cover several methods of showing it (yes - web video really can be this dumb-stupid).

The only job YOU have to do to help Viddymatic achieve this on your web pages while barely lifting a finger, is to create that single video in a particular format...

MP4 + H.264 = Unavoidably Important Video Jargon For The Web

If you want to make head or tail out of the sorry mess called web video, you'll need to have a basic idea of a few nerd-terms. These are all things you'll come across when creating and exporting videos from a video editing program, whether on Mac or PC (or Linux).

Don't panic - they won't bite, and they're really not that hard to grasp the essence of (which is all you need).

Video container:

Just think of this as the outside 'wrapper' for your video. It's used to describe how all the elements inside it (most of which you'll never need to know about) fit together to create and play the actual video in a player.

Video codec:

This just describes how the images that make up your video get compressed. It's the insane maths your computer uses to squeeze down your video to a smaller file size than it would otherwise be. The same codec also tells the player how to 'unsqueeze' the squashed video data back up again to show onscreen.

Audio codec:

This is the same as above, but for the audio part of your movie.

As an aside to codecs, it's worth making sure you understand the difference between Lossy and Lossless...

Lossy Compression

A Lossy method of storing video (or audio) means the original video footage gets squashed down to a smaller file size and loses some of its information along the way. Movies on DVD, Blueray, etc and auio stored as mp3s are all examples of 'Lossy' compression. You're trading a much smaller file size for storing the information for a loss in its quality (to varying degrees).

Lossless Compression

A Lossless codec (compressor) on the other hand, shrinks the video footage to a smaller file size without loss to the quality of that footage. Of course, it can't compete with Lossy compression (in terms of file size), but it's very useful when you are still editing your video.

That's why understanding Lossy & Lossless is important...

When you create and edit your video, you'll usually store your video in a Lossless format. That will be your 'master' copy. Then, when you want to show the rest of the world your final masterpiece, you convert it to a 'Lossy' format (that's what DVDs, Bluray's etc use) that's smaller and easy to provide across the Internet.

The big reason for working with a Lossless format is that when you make changes to a video (or audio) that's in a Lossy format you get generational loss - and that means you lose slightly more quality from the footage each time you re-render it in that lossy format.

Resolution:

Simply the size, in pixels, of your video. The higher the resolution, the clearer the image - but higher resolution videos also have proportionally larger file sizes, and therefore require more time to download and start playing. Personally, I'd recommend decent quality non HD (high definition) videos between 640x360 pixels, up to 960x540 pixels. You'll get your videos actually played by most people that way.

Frame rate:

How many individual images the video shows each second. Cinema is historically shown at 24 fps (frames per second), so your eyes see 24 images in succession each second to create the effect of motion.

The best 2 overall frame rates for your web videos are:

30 fps - creates a smooth motion video

15 fps - Less smooth, but plenty enough for videos based on screen-captures. Using 15fps means you can achieve a smaller file size for your video.

You can use others if you like (but keep them as a clean fraction of 60 - e.g 5, 10, 12, 20 fps), but 15 and 30 cover most circumstances you'll ever encounter, and keeps things simple.

Bitrate:

The bitrate is simply a measure of how much data your video sucks up each second in order to create its moving images (or its sound). So the higher this figure, the higher the quality of the video (or audio). It's usually stated/entered in video editors as kbps (kilobits per second).

One extra and important thing about bitrate: how much you need for a clean looking video depends on the type of video, its resolution, and its frame rate.

Plus, some programs let you set a variable bitrate, where the video will use a higher setting for parts that need it (where there's lots of motion and change between frames), and a lower bitrate for parts that don't (where there's not much visual difference between one video frame and another). We won't go into that here, but it's there for future reference.

What's really important about bitrate is that it effectively determines how fast a visitor's internet connection will need to be in order to play the video smoothly...

You could create the most detailed HD (high definition) video using a bitrate of, say, 8000kbps...but many of your visitors simply won't have the patience to wait several minutes for it to download and stop pausing/stuttering. That's kind of pointless!

The (Almost) Holy Grail of Web Video

Okay, don't panic if you find that a lot to take in. Beyond the geek-speak and acronyms it's not that bad, and you only need a basic idea of how this all fits together in order to create excellent web video.

Right, with the above lingo in the bag, here's the only type of video settings you need to use to show videos using Viddymatic. Video settings for greatest viewing reach:

VIDEO SETTINGS:

Container type: MP4

Compression: H.264 (also known and listed in some programs as AVC)

[NOTE: if your video editor or converter has an option for setting the H.264 Profile, use Baseline for greatest compatibility]

Bitrate: up to 2000 kbps (depending on video resolution and frame-rate)

Framerate - general use: 30 fps

Framerate - screen capture videos: 5,10 or 15 fps (if you want to save on bitrate and filesize)

AUDIO SETTINGS:

Type: AAC

Bitrate: Mono or Stereo, up to 160kbps, 48Khz - but generally 128kbps, 44khz stereo, will be ample and keeps things simple.

If you keep to those guidelines you'll be making your videos watchable by around 99% of all visitors reaching your web site (when using Viddymatic to show them).

"What about High Definition?"

Using high definition videos comes back to what I mentioned about bitrate earlier...

If you choose to show HD videos (1280 x 720 pixels and above) you'll need to use a fairly high bitrate (3000+kbps), which in turn means your visitors will need a decent net connection to watch it without issues: and that's the bit you certainly can't guarantee.

It also means more mobile users won't be able to view your video (due to hardware restrictions), and on top of that it costs you more of your web server's resources to provide the larger HD video.

That's not to say don't use HD videos: it just means to think whether using HD will make a difference to how your message gets across. In most cases it won't make anything near as much difference as providing things like decent consistent audio and a well thought out and delivered 'story'.

Personally, I like to stick to the following resolutions wherever possible before considering HD resolutions:

Widescreen (16:9): 960x540, 800x450, 640x360

Standard (4:3): 800x600, 640x480, 480x360

But you can use whatever you like. There's nought wrong with a bit of experimenting!

(Again, this is based on doing the least work possible to set the video up: a single video to cover all options, and no messing about with multiple versions for different devices.)

Recommended Software for Producing Web-ready MP4's

Most video editing software these days includes the ability to export your final video in the format outlined above. Most of them also offer free trials too. I personally use Sony Vegas Pro (main editing) and Camtasia (for screen capture), but just try one or two from a search of video editor on Amazon (then search Google for a trial verision) and see what suits you best.

You can also use a dedicated video conversion program, or Apple's Quicktime (PC & Mac versions). Quicktime is great because it's simple and intuitive to use. You'll need the Pro version though, which is around $30.

A very good free alternative I've personally used is Freemake. In fact, you can if you're not sure about converting to MP4, downloading it and watching this video is probably the easiest way to go:

"Oi! Viddymatic Loads The Whole Darn Video Before Playing It!"

The one thing you'll need to be aware of is that many of the editors/convertors don't set the MP4 to be 'web ready'...

That means it sets the info about the actual video at the end of the file. This means that when you use it with a player like Viddymatic, the whole video has to download to the visitor's device before it starts playing.

If this happens you can fix it very easily with this great little program:

QT Iindex Swapper

All you do is tell it where your MP4 video file(s) is on your hard drive and it will shuffle that important bit of info to the front of it (takes literally a millisecond).

Once that's done, your fixed version will start playing in your visitor's browser within a few seconds of pressing the Viddymatic play button.

The H.264 Elephant In The Room?...

The witch has left, and now there's just an elephant to talk about.

Although the H.264 video codec (for squeezing down all the data-thingies in your MP4 videos) is the single best, all-encompassing option for showing your videos to the world, it has one potential 'downside'...

It's a proprietary technology that is licensed for use, and it just happens that the license for paying any royalties for that use is currently free (until at least 2016).

Now, I personally think that to minimize its competition its use will stay 100% free for everyday users like you and me. But just so you know, beyond 2016 its license may change and some people who use H.264 in videos might be eligible to pay small royalties for continued use.

But hey - what would you rather have?...

Getting all your videos playing across most people's computers, laptops and mobiles without much hassle right now , and very-slightly-maybe having to change a few of them in about 4 to 5 years time (unlikely anyway in my opinion)?...

Or would you rather tear your hair out getting multiple video formats to work on a daily basis for the next 4 to 5 years, only to find that H.264 is still 100% free to use for good folks like you and I (well, you anyway) beyond 2016?

Of course, in another 4 to 5 years the whole situation may also see a lot less witches flying about and some new improved solutions too.

So as far as I'm concerned the decision is simple: it's H.264 MP4 videos all the way, baby!

Advanced Feature - RTMP Video Streaming

NOTE: Limited support. You need to be able to set up RTMP streaming on your server and understand its use/limitations. (Please see recommendation of using Amazon Cloudfront below.)

What is RTMP Video Streaming?

Most videos (if they're set up correctly!) get delivered to your visitor's web browser using progressive download. All that means is that the browser's 'video player' is able to start playing your movie while it's downloading: so if 10 seconds worth of the video file has already downloaded, the visitor will be able to watch up to the first 10 seconds of it.

And of course, while you're watching that 10 seconds, the next 10, 20, 30 seconds worth is downloading in the background, and so on.

The main alternative to that setup (that's currently easily accessible to you and I - there is one other, but it takes more to setup) is RTMP streaming...

RTMP streaming allows a video to be served to your visitors in little 'chunks' - so instead of downloading the whole video file from start to finish (which is what happens with progressive videos), an RTMP video sends only the few seconds of video information needed at the time.

The result is like what you see with a YouTube video: you can skip very quickly between parts of a video without the whole video having to be downloaded to your we browser first.

I'll leave you to use Google to look up and decide on the other benefits (or not) of RTMP video streaming - there are several pros and several cons. But to make the most of it you really need to encode more than one version of your video (which defeats the Viddymatic objective of keeping things simple where possible).

Anyway, Viddymatic allows you to set up basic (but effective) RTMP video streaming - however it's down to you to know what you're doing with the 'server side' setup of RTMP streaming. We won't be able to hold your hand and fix your specific setups in order to get things working for you.

I personally use streaming video sparingly, and only currently via Amazon S3 plus its Cloudfront service - so that's the only RTMP option I'm currently willing to 'guarantee' Viddymatic's streaming compatibility with.

If you're going to use streaming video, that's the option I recommend, as all the server-side stuff (Flash Media Server) is taken care of for you by Amazon's service, and it's relatively painless (and inexpensive) to make use of. (Plus, you'll also have future options to extend your use of streaming media beyond what Viddymatic currently provides.)

Adding an RTMP Streaming Video With Viddymatic

So, here's how to add a streaming RTMP video with Viddymaticc - the rest is up to you! [NOTE: The video below is itself a Viddymatic streaming video]

        Da-da-da-daaa! Viddymatic Version 2 info...

Even though from the surface many things may look the same or similar, most of
the Viddymatic 'engine' has been rewritten or improved. Plus, all existing
[viddy] tags are backwards compatible - so upgrading from version 1 is painless.
All your existing audios, videos, and popup pages will continue working!

IMPORTANT: Only the WordPress Plugin version of version 2 is currently
released - the standalone version will be added soon

Here are the main enhancements in Version 2:

Super simple audio/video tracking
Easy integration of simple video stats with your
            Google Analytics
account with a single mouse click!

Track YouTube Videos
Track the use of YouTube videos on your own web site (via Google Analytics). One
single tick box will do it!

Play YouTube 'segments'
Want to queue up just a portion of a YouTube video? Now you can...just tell
Viddymatic the start and finish times!

Time-delayed popups
Easily add time-delayed audio, video, or standard popup boxes to any page/post
with a few simple button clicks!

Better player controls
Allow users the full control bar for audios/videos, or prevent 'scrubbing'
            through the video!

Fallback mode for non-compatible web browsers
For the 2-or-so percent of visitors who don't have capable browsers, Viddymatic
has a 'fallback' mode to display audio/video, so your media will still get seen
(albeit with a few less detailed features, such as reduced tracking - but
they'll be added to and improved along the way)

Advanced extras (available with limited support)

Flash RTMP Video Streaming
Viddymatic now has basic ('phase 1') video streaming. You must
have a web host capable of delivering this type of streaming (using Adobe Flash
Media Server), or an Amazon S3 & Cloudfront account, and
knowledge of how to set up and use it.

Custom redirect functions
If you ever fancy getting dirty with some javascript, you can now roll your own
functions for when an audio/video finishes playing (or when the 'clickstrip' is
clicked). We'll also be adding some of these for you along the way!

There'll be info added along the way on how to use the new features to create
specific setups on your posts and pages.

"Concentrate, young Grasshopper!"

This 'secret' is about becoming a video creating, site-monetizing *laser beam*...

...which funnily enough is what powers most of the world's current crop of video players (DVDs, Blue Ray players, CD-Rom drives etc).

Laser beams are pure bundles of focused energy. Concentrated power. And that's how you and I need to be when we select, create, and upload our online videos...

...and enabling your 'Jedi Focus powers' is also recommended for most other business and marketing activities too!

But this isn't just about understanding *your* need for targeting your efforts, it extends to understanding how to focus the attention of your video-watching visitors too...

"Please sir, I WILL have some more! NOW Godammit!"
~ Olivert Twist: 2010 edition

We live in an era where everyone seems to want 'more, more, more!' (because in many cases - armed with a credit card - they can 'get! get! get!')...

...HOWEVER if you want to *monetize* your web site effectively, you need to understand that giving people 'more' is not always the best way to go (and will lower you bank deposits)...

You see, despite people *thinking* they want more, it's often the reverse that often holds true:

most of us actually get *bamboozled* by too much choice. We like the idea of it, but it often leads to decision-making paralysis and no action being taken. For you and your web site videos that's not good. Not one tiny bit...

Let's for a minute think about what you WANT to happen in relation to adding videos to your web site:

Add a video that targets a particular visitor's interests

Attract that visitor to watch it

Encourage the visitor to take a *particular action* relating to having watched the video (e.g sign up/phone up for more information, learn more about a related product, directly order a related prodict, etc)...

So why then do so many 'businesses' and 'marketers' end up doing only the following?...

1) Add 3 videos to a web page
2) Add 4 different ads for other things around those videos
3) Add 5 different topic links to other sites or web pages on the same page

There ain't no laser there boy, no siree!

That there is a 'scatter-gun' approach that has visitors moving willy-nilly all over the place with barely a chance for ANY of their actions being the ones YOU wanted them to take.

And for the visitor it can become too much of everything and not enough of *something*.

That's because whatever people *say* they want (gimme more, gimme more) doesn't always match the actual behaviour they take!

In other words, put less credence into what comes out of people's mouths, and more into what people actually *do*.

The "fill my page with stuff" approach is understandable - after all, you see it on nearly every multi-colored 'blog' the Web over - and it appears to give you better odds of monetizing *somehow*...

But 'more things to click' doesn't easily translate into 'more ways to earn': more often than not, you're much better targeting your videos with supreme focus. Guiding your visitor's atttention down an entertaining path towards a useful result for both of you.

If this 'secret' seems more about human psychology than creating and using video, you're darn right!...

...that's because EVERYTHING you do to monetize your web site (video or other wise) comes down to basic understandings of how people actually behave. Video being no different.

This nameless quote says it pretty well in a nutshell (and would have saved me writing all the above!)

"If you chase two rabbits, both will escape"

Everything you do is best focussed around getting, maintaining and redirecting the attention of your viewers for the benefit of both them and you. It'll bring you more happy customers and a bigger bank account to boot.

So, are you ready for the easiest ways to add focussed video to your website?...

Get more ongoing and exclusive 'insider' web video tips PLUS an easy way to add monetizing videos to your web site:

Click below to invest in your special Viddymatic package now:
Easily add video to web sites

Free Web Video Secrets
~ Part IV~

“Easy Web Video With WordPress”

Viddymatic + WordPress = Kickass Video Cash Combo!"

You may have noticed from the Viddymatic product page that there are 2 versions of the easy web video plugin:

one for 'standard' web sites

one for using with WordPress

The reason is that the WordPress plugin was built first. Now let me tell you why and what it can mean for your video success if you've yet to experience the world of WordPress...

Remember the first 'secret' about kicking out the techy stuff wherever possible?

Well WordPress allows you to do that with more than just video. What started out as a simple 'blogging' platform (where people could keep an 'online diary' [web log] of their life) has now become a fully fledged way to easily build and maintain almost ANY type of web site...WITHOUT all the techy bits leeching your precious time.

This web page uses WordPress - and so does the Viddymatic main page. The videos on there - and all the demos too, infact - use the Viddymatic WordPress plugin to power them.

So what's so special about using WordPress to power your web site?

It has a built-in way of easily writing your web pages without knowing anything about writing web pages
(Basically, it's like using an online word processor)

It's now a 'mature' platform that's gone through most of its teething issues, making it both powerful and reliable

It has a gazillion 'plugins' (like Viddymatic) - both free ones and paid ones - that can enhance and change your website in seconds

It has a 'nerd mode' too: so if you want more control than a WYSIWYG ('what you see is what you get') interface, you've got that option

...but here's the real kicker...

Google LOVES WordPress: so it's actually fairly easy to get web pages listed in Google (though you still need to know your Search Engine Optimization skills 101 [or outsource it to those who do]).

Because of its ease of use it provides a great base for easily adding regular content to a web site (which Google loves too). And you can even set pages up in advance and 'drip feed' them too.

Of course, you can do all these things (and sometimes more) without using WordPress to power a website. And adding money-making videos with a plugin like Viddymatic works easily without it as well....

...but the trade-off is that you need more technical know-how: and that will cost you either time or money (or both).

Oh - one more thing about WordPress:

it's absolutely free for both personal and commercial uses.

So - are there drawbacks? Yes - just as there are with everything.

The main one to my mind comes from one of its strengths: there are so many plugins you can add to adapt it to your needs - but they're not all created equal.

Some are poorly supported or unsupported, some conflict with others because of how they've been designed and written, and some of them can grind your website to a complete crawl.

So the key (again) is in being able to make quick judgments on the best ones to use, and the best ones to avoid. Yet another ongoing area we'll be covering in Viddyology for Silver and Gold members in the coming weeks.

Naturally, I can highly recommend Viddymatic as your WordPress video plugin of choice ...though I've no problem in also letting you know there other WordPress video plugins if you'd prefer to make less money from your website!

The other WordPress drawback is that it doesn't arrive in an instantly 'user friendly' state. But don't let that put you off - it really isn't very difficult to understand the basics, and there are numerous tutorials littered about the web (and also some "Geekless" ones soon being added to the Viddyology membership).

So, if you're looking to add videos to a new site have a think about using Viddymatic in conjunction with WordPress. It can be a killer cash-inducing combination!

Ready to invest in Viddymatic?
(plus Viddyology Silver Screen bonus)

[Note: WordPress is a trademark of its respective owner. See WordPress.com]

Yesterday we touched on how video - with all its whizz-bang audio/visual potential - can distract you from remembering the marketing factors that still need to underpin its success (at least when that success relates to profitable results anyway).

Today's secret relates to that, and is possibly the most important of all...

...the power of your video comes from the power of its *ability to entertain and persuade*, and the power of its persuasion often stems from the power of something far simpler than creating moving pictures...

...it stems from the power of the PEN.

Great promo videos that presell products effectively do so because they use audio and video to ENHANCE a *specific message* that's targeted to the eyeballs watching it...

Lack of raw copywriting ability (essentially, the ability to string words together persuasively) in the creation of videos is the downfall of many wannabe video money-makers.

It's amazing the number of un-savvy businesses and product sellers who spend 1000's on getting special fx and barely a penny on well-penned scripts or storyboards. What they stand to lose is $1000s of lost results.

There's a reason that script writing for audio and video commercials can command high fees...

...it's because the pay-back in results can be worth many times more!

So - the moral of *this* story is to make sure that YOUR video-story is...

targeted

well-paced

attention-grabbing

attention-keeping

influences action-taking

...read: ENTERTAINING. (...or possibly Pentertaining )

The effect on your final videos will repay you many times over for the savvy investment in a good set of pens upfront.

And I should mention here 2 other MIGHTY attributes that go hand in hand with this one. But they form part of the exclusive content saved for paid-up Viddymatic/Viddyology members

Ready to invest in Viddymatic?
(plus Viddyology Silver Screen bonus)

Free Web Video Secrets
~ Part II ~

"The Power of Taking Control"

"Take control of your videos!"

An amazing thing happens to most 'business' people when adding a video to their website (and by 'business' people I mean ANYONE using the web for profitable monetary gain - regardless of whether you're a small/medium/big business owner, a self-employed professional, a work-at-home mum or dad, or a 'part-time hobbyist')...

...all the fundamentals of effective marketing 101 fly straight out the nearest window.

It's similar to George Lucas salivating over a billion computer-generated effects at the expense of creating more than a barely crap follow-up Star Wars film.

One of the biggest of these "throw marketing out the window" mistakes is sacrificing *control* and *branding* of your videos just because there's a way to host them for 'free' (yes - we're talking YouTube folks!)...

BIG mistake! Because that so-called freebie comes with a high price tag.

Video sharing sites - especially YouTube - are *very powerful tools*...but *not* when it comes to sticking your own videos onto *YOUR* own web site(s):

The instant you use the YouTube version of your video on your website, you're handing over a piece of your professional image and brandability straight over to THEM instead of keeping it for yourself...

...and even worse - you're instantly handing your visitor to move their attention AWAY from your site with a single click!

Sure - you get the video hosted for 'free', but the cost is often too high when you're looking to use video for entrepreneurial gain.

Now, there are times to use YouTube on your web site. Yes indeedy. But NOT without at least easing the trade-off...

That's why we built in the simple-but-snazzy "re-direction" feature for YouTube videos into Viddymatic:

When you use a YouTube video on your website in conjunction with Viddymatic, you can tell it to *redirect* the viewer to the web page of YOUR choice once it finishes playing *or* any time during it by them clicking the 'click strip' at the top...

It's a cinch to set up and makes using YouTube ideal for 'testing' videos, and for making money with *existing* YouTube videos via affiliate marketing - where you get paid for sending new customers over to existing product owners by using a special link (that they track back to you, and pay you a commission)...

All you do is use Viddymatic to plug in your special 'affiliate link' for the redirect (and in the 'click strip').

Here's a live example to demonstrate...

If you click the strip (or let the video play to the end) it should 'popup' another webpage (it could just as easily be set to replace this page instead of loading it in the popup), and that page can be a link to pretty much ANY page you like...

...So in next to no time you have a YouTube video on your web site that can *actively make you money* instead of just providing a link back to YouTube.com!

Of course if you have your own products to promote then the ideal is to eventually ditch the YouTube video* in favor of hosting your own...

Using Viddymatic you'd keep your redirection links intact, and just tell it to use your own hosted video instead of one hosted with YouTube. The special redirection feature works in exactly the same way.

[* Just so you know, you don't ditch your YouTube video completely - you simply stick to using the YouTube video ON YouTube ]

Remember: the keys to your golden video kingdom lie in having control and influence over your visitors...

...Viddymatic lets you take technical control through easy redirection abilities, while Viddyology will be helping you exert influence in turning that redirection into *sales* [kerching!]
